Tip of the Week – s’ or s’s
Indicating possession to a word that ends in s was traditionally done by simply adding ’ at the end of the word; for example, ‘Charles’ book’.
These days, it is commonly accepted to add ’s; for example, ‘Charles’s book’.
The choice to add just ’ or ’s to the end of words ending in s is up to you. My preference is for simply adding the ’ because it looks neater and more concise.
