Tip of the Week, 1.4.10: Australian Audience

I have posted previous tips describing some of the ways Australian English is different to American English.

Another factor to consider is tailoring your content to Australian audiences. Australians like people to be honest and up-front, so they also want to read content that is straightforward. A lot of American copywriting tends to focus on drawing the reader in without really saying anything substantial. You won’t get away with this with an Australian audience.

Do not try to hide things or conceal things from an Australian audience as it is a sure way to turn people off. Instead, formulate a document that includes your key benefits and show people exactly what you have to offer. It is always better to sell honestly than by tricking people.
